Lottery and life | Part I
Few people look to the past to think where they currently could be.
Sam Dekker, felt himself like in a lottery and even said that he has to win one of the seven spots in the 2015 NBA, then he received it.
Besides the long waiting he had other good moments. Sam became № 18, led the Houston Rockets in the first round. Then Dekker became a part of the team in the game of playoff, where he was a slasher and then three-point shooter.
Dekker said it was the best script in his fate. He received all he dreamed about – a great team, and the organization where he feels calm and comfortable. Sam believes that this winning is the best in his life.
Now Dekker says that he felt quite normal in the waiting period, because he knew that he was worthy of the place. “I felt decent and I knew that I deserve it,” said Sam. In the words of his father, such a position is always good for winning.
The fact that Dekker was taken to Houston was his best option of his life.
Sam Dekker was born in Sheboygan, and it remains him the best NBA player from that region. He had already been in a second team of All-Big Ten selection at the last season. He averaged 13, 7 points and 5, 5 rebounds as a junior.
His second great appearance was as leading Wisconsin in the Final Four. Since 1941, it was his first trip to the national championship. During the game, he received an average 19.4 points. At that time he was called – the most outstanding player of the Western Region, for his career was already scored 27 points. It is also necessary to include 6-6 shooting points from the Elite Eight by winning in Arizona and 41, 6 percent from the range in the NCAA Tournament.
“I am very calm because I’m ready to get this team and ready to play,” said Dekker. “I do not mind playing three years in Wisconsin and playing in the Two Final Fours in NBA. I think I can make this game better than my predecessors.
“Houston wasn’t wrong in his choice, and I’m glad that didn’t sum him up, and I’m happy, that now I am a part of this society.”
